Joan seemed to be a volunteer worker for Gaab. However, she was a Bane and used her [[Bane image translator|image translator]] to appear as a human. She was one of the Bane who were sent to kill Mrs Wormwood and eat her alive, because the invasion of Earth with [[Bubble Shock]] had been a failure. She tried to get inside the house, but Clyde Langer, Mrs Wormwood and [[Luke Smith]] got away. Joan was killed by [[Kaagh]] with a [[Sontaran blaster]] before she could harm [[Mrs Wormwood]].
