Anya Barkov was a Russian with psychic abilities.

The Soviets tricked British intelligence in 1965 into believing that Anya's brother, chess player Shurik Barkov was psychic and wanted to defect. In fact, Anya was the psychic and had been turned into a "psychic bomb". Her activation almost started riots in London, but they were stopped when she was shot. (AUDIO: Peshka)
