The Tritivores were a species of fly-headed humanoids. (DW: Planet of the Dead)

Biology

Tritivores were grey-skinned humanoids with insectoid heads resembling those of flies. Their heads had two large compund eyes, and several complex parts making up a mouth. Tritivores communicated by clicking these parts to produce sound. They had simple, two-digit hands. (DW: Planet of the Dead)

Technology

Trivia

According to Michelle Ryan, on the Steve Wright show on radio 2, the Tritivores will use a chirping whistling language, and not English.

What there relationship, if any, to the other species (A swarm of mantaray-like creatures.) in 'The Desert' is, is currently unknown.

According to Russell T Davies they will hopefully be remembered as well as the Daleks, and the Cybermen.

During the fourth instalment of the David Tennant video diaries he and Michelle Ryan can be seen filming a scene where they are being accompanied/guarded/followed by a prosthetic, humanoid creature with a large insectoid head and beige clothing. They are holding an alien gun with three front nozzles. This is presumably the Tritivores meaning that if it is then thy are not as originally stated a CGI creation.
