Commander Hon was an Yl-caan.
He was sent to check if Lady Irna had recovered from being poisoned. However, she had transformed into a beast, which Hon believed had killed Irna. The Sixth Doctor was able to convince Hon of the beast's true nature and stop him from destroying the planet. (COMIC: Nature of the Beast!)
