Snuff

Snuff was, along with cigars, a luxury tobacco product that Dalville once offered Dodo Chaplet as a matter of perfunctory hospitality. She refused both. (PROSE: The Man in the Velvet Mask) As the circus impresario Malacroix later rudely demonstrated to Ace, snuff was usually kept in a small, often highly decorative box — called a snuff box (PROSE: The Taking of Planet 5) — and then inhaled nasally.
