The police sergeant worked in a police station where Count Rolf Wittenmeier was held on charges of murder in Vienna, Austria on 11 September 1873.
Being responsible for allowing visitors, the sergeant was initially rather curt with the Count, refusing his requests and allowing only very short visits of his wife. He became a little more cooperative after, on his watch, the Count was attacked by Gramm right in the cell. (AUDIO: The Silver Turk)
