Diving bell

Diving bells were bell shaped chambers used to transport divers to the ocean floor.

The Royal Navy ship Reclaim was fitted with a diving bell. The Third Doctor used the bell to search for the Sea Devil's base on the ocean floor. However, the Doctor were captured by them, and when the bell was brought up, it was empty. (TV: The Sea Devils)
