Sophie was an actress in an alternate Paris. She was arrested along with the First Doctor. Before they could be put in prison, their patrol was attacked by the English spies Garce and Eging. They knocked out the Doctor and took Sophie to their hideout. They murdered her and used her innocent blood to contact the Masksmasters. (PROSE: The Man in the Velvet Mask)
