: I think yes, that it essentially boils down to range, andto what was really being talked about in each situation. There's a big difference between using the sonic screwdriver from across the room to activate an emergency protocol (sending the TARDIS on a preset journey to a specific location), and having a remote control which would enable him to pilot the TARDIS from Earth while it's on an orbiting spaceship. That's my thought on it anyway. [[User:Spreee|Spreee]] 03:02, 10 June 2009 (UTC)Spreee

The Doctor says in the episode that he lied about having a remote control to the TARDIS, but he used his sonic screwdriver to send Rose back to Earth in The Parting of the Ways? This has to be a discontinuity, unless range is a factor (as he was practically next to Rose in series 1). Can I get someone else's opinion on this? JAllen 18:34, 9 June 2009 (UTC)

I think yes, that it essentially boils down to range, andto what was really being talked about in each situation. Spreee 03:02, 10 June 2009 (UTC)Spreee
