When Ian Chesterton and Barbara Wright first discovered the Doctor's TARDIS in 1963 it took the form of a police box incongruously located in a scrapyard at 76 Totter's Lane in Shoreditch. (DW: An Unearthly Child).

Later in 1963, a fight between a Renegade Dalek and Group Captain Gilmore's Intrustion Countermeasures Group occured there. (DW: Remembrance of the Daleks)

Though never stated, we can assume that the Dalek went there because the Renegade Daleks knew the TARDIS had earlier landed there.

In 1985, the TARDIS returned to the junkyard in 1985, in response to a distress signal sent by Lytton. (DW: Attack of the Cybermen).
