Dalek operator — sometimes Dalek machine operator — was a credit given on Doctor Who episodes for the people who moved the Dalek props from within. In the 1963 version of the programme, Dalek operators controlled all facets of Dalek movement. Beginning with Dalek, however, movement of the head and the flashing of head lamps fell to a remote control operator. These people, though instrumental to the on-screen operation of a Dalek, are not considered "Dalek operators" by the end credits, the title still being reserved for those who are within the Dalek casing.
