Langley was a soldier in the British Army. He took part in the fight against the Great Intelligence and its robot Yeti in the London Underground.
Whike attempting to get to the Second Doctor's TARDIS, Langley, along with most of the other soldiers, were killed by the Yeti. (TV: The Web of Fear)
Behind the scenes
Langley is only named once on screen, by Col. Lethbridge-Stewart in episode four. The actor who played Langley went uncredited for the role.
