Kari, along with Olvir, was a space pirate who mistakenly boarded a ship transporting victims of Lazar's disease to Terminus. She assisted the Fifth Doctor in preventing Terminus' engine from exploding, which would have destroyed the universe. (TV: Terminus)
Behind the scenes
Writer Steve Gallagher originally wanted to call the character "Yoni" but John Nathan-Turner asked him to change it as this was Indian slang for "a part of the female anatomy." (INFO: Terminus)
