Netherlands

The Netherlands (sometimes known as Holland[source needed]) was a nation in Europe.

Dutch was the term used to describe people and organisations from the Netherlands (AUDIO: The Waters of Amsterdam), as well as from Holland. (PROSE: The Roundheads)

Dr Heinrich Tulp was born in the Netherlands in the 19th century. (AUDIO: The Mahogany Murderers)

In 1983, Omega established his base in the Dutch city of Amsterdam, where Colin Frazer and his friend Robin Stuart were backpacking. (TV: Arc of Infinity)

In the early 21st century, rising sea levels caused by global warming flooded the Netherlands, forcing the Dutch people to become refugees. Later in the century they founded a new homeland on an island in the Atlantic Ocean, which they named the New Dutch Republic. (PROSE: St Anthony's Fire)

Some Dutch people, mostly bored youths from rich families, turned to terrorism. They were hunted by the newly-formed World Civilian Police Corps, with detective Ben Fuller aiding in the capture of one terrorist cell in New Amsterdam. In retaliation, they murdered his wife Lily. (PROSE: The Face-Eater)
