A lieutenant was the leader of a group of soldiers surrounding the farmhouse in which the First Doctor, Susan Foreman, Barbara Wright, Ian Chesterton, Rouvray and D'Argenson were hiding in 12 km from Paris in July 1794.
He refused his sergeant's suggestion that they kill Ian, Barbara and Susan, saying that there might be a reward. The soldiers then took Ian, Barbara and Susan to the Concierge Prison. (TV: The Reign of Terror)
