:::I noticed this as well, but wasn't sure how to address it.  I guess he could be called "K-9 Mark I (Mark II)"... but good lord that could be confusing.  I personally don't think it's necessary to set up a seperate page since 1) it is the still K-9 Mark I (according to the "Doctor Who" based numbering) and 2)we probably want to maintain a clear connection for anyone new who comes looking for information about K-9 because of the new show. I would create a new, clearly marked, section on the current Mark I page for "K-9 Mark I (Mark II)" or "K-9 (2050)" or "K-9 (Post-Regeneration)" (or whatever we chose to call him) for information relating to the new show. --[[User:Raukodraug|Raukodraug]] 01:09, November 6, 2009 (UTC)

IndexPanopticon → Naming issues surrounding K9 TV series
Spoilers are strongly policed here.
If this thread's title doesn't specify it's spoilery, don't bring any up.

With the K-9 TV series that has lately been released, it is established Mark I is the one who dies in the start meaning the K-9 that appears in the rest is an alternative Mark II. I have some suggestions. One is that Mark II is a disambiguation to K-9 Mark II (Doctor Who) and K-9 Mark II (K9) and another is that the Mark II from K9 is named '2050 K-9'. Just my ideas, but I think the new K-9 model, no matter how non-canon it could be considered, needs a page. Bigredrabbit 09:50, November 5, 2009 (UTC)

I haven't seen the episode, but it seems to me that the new K-9 is still K-9 Mark I. K-9 Mark II was made from scratch and is therefore a separate model. This new K-9 is just K-9 Mark I, having been modified. Still probably justifies a new page, but the name would probably be some variation on K-9 Mark I, instead of K-9 Mark II.
You know, unless they specifically say it's a new Mark II. -<Azes13 14:21, November 5, 2009 (UTC)
They do. After K-9 is rebuilt a list consisting of 'Mark I, Mark II, Mark II, Mark IV, Mark V' appears and the highlighted Mark I is un-highlighted and Mark II is highlighted, meaning he has refreshed himself into Mark II-format, or something Bigredrabbit 21:28, November 5, 2009 (UTC)
I noticed this as well, but wasn't sure how to address it. --Raukodraug 01:09, November 6, 2009 (UTC)
