Nero was Emperor of the Roman Empire during the 1st century.
Biography
Following the conquest of Britain by the Roman Empire in 43, Prasutagus, the king of the Iceni, was one of several tribal rulers in Britain who were bought off by the Romans. After Prasutagus' death, he left half of his kingdom to Nero and the other half to his daughters. His widow Boudica became the Queen of the Iceni. However, the Emperor annexed the entire kingdom. When Boudica objected, she was flogged and her daughters were raped in public. This resulted in Boudica leading a failed revolt against the occupying Roman forces in 60.
