Bhakti was a sadhu, a wandering Hindu holy man, during the Partition of India.
In August 1947 he was to officiate the marriage of Umbreen and Prem, but was murdered by Prem's brother Manish who did not approve of his Hindu brother marrying a Muslim woman. (TV: Demons of the Punjab)
