Simon A Forward is a writer and longtime Doctor Who fan. He has said he always wanted to be a writer. In the mid-1990s, during Virgin Publishing's era of publishing the Virgin New Adventures and Virgin Missing Adventures, he sent several proposals for novels to the Virgin commissioning team. His first published Doctor Who work, however came following the BBC retaking the Doctor Who license, with the short story One Bad Apple.[1] Drift, Forward's first full length novel was originally a Third Doctor and Liz Shaw novel, before becoming (as it was published) a Fourth Doctor and Leela novel. [2] Forward is the creator of the alien race the Galyari, who have thus far appeared in all three of his Big Finish Productions audio dramas: The Sandman, Dreamtime and The Bone of Contention.
