Inspector Gascoigne was a police detective investigating Chameleon Tours in 1966.

Biography

Gascoigne was acting on behalf of Samantha Briggs, whose brother, Brian, had disappeared on a Chameleon Tours holiday to Rome.

When Gascoigne found some postcards in the Chameleon Tours hangar, the Chameleon Spencer shot and killed him with an energy weapon for having gotten too close to the truth. The effect of the Chameleon weapon made it appear Gascoigne had been electrocuted.

Polly witnessed the murder while hiding from the airport police in the hangar, and informed the Second Doctor. The Doctor's subsequent investigation exposed the Chameleon threat. (TV: The Faceless Ones)
