Kylie Minogue (born 28 May 1968[1]) is a singer and actress. She played Astrid Peth in the Doctor Who story Voyage of the Damned.
Biography
Minogue is an Australian singer and actress. Her initial taste of fame came from the Australian soap opera, Neighbours — a hit throughout large swaths of the English-speaking world. Minogue parlayed this fame into an even more successful musical career, although she still continued to make occasional acting appearances. Minogue has achieved seven UK no.1 singles and thirty-four UK top 10 singles. After her eleventh studio album Aphrodite went no.1 in July 2010, she became the first artist to have no.1 albums in four consecutive decades. She has had five UK no.1 albums. In 2005, Minogue was diagnosed with the early stages of breast cancer. After a year in remission, Minogue joined her sister Dannii Minogue on stage at G-A-Y and soon resumed her Showgirl tour.
Minogue's performing career dates back to the mid-1980s when she rose to popularity as an actress on Australian TV. She scaled back her film and TV appearances after launching her successful music career in the late 1980s, but has appeared in several films including Moulin Rouge and Bio-Dome.
Minogue has sold over a hundred million records worldwide, and is a global superstar.
