Lance
The Master, under the guise of Sir "Gilles Estram", knocks Hugh Fitzwilliam from his horse during a jousting bout, shattering his lance in the process. (TV: The King's Demons)

A lance was a pole weapon designed to be used while on horseback.

During jousting matches, a lance was the primary weapon of a knight, who used the weapon to demount their adversary. During one such contest on 4 March 1215, the Tremas Master was able to knock Hugh Fitzwilliam from his horse with a single thrust on the first pass. (TV: The King's Demons)
