The Staggs were a species of highly intelligent amphibians native to Tiro. They were led by Argon.
Klarimo attempted to invade their world and conquer them, but was defeated by Argon with the assistance of the First Doctor. Some time later, they investigate the poisoning of their water supply, and traced it to Klarimo, who had not been taken back to his world but was trapped in an underground chamber as an energy being. Argon and the Staggs defeated Klarimo, again with the assistance of the Doctor, who had returned to Tiro. (PROSE: Terror on Tiro)
