Plot
Earth on Valentine's Day in 2013 and the Doctor realises that something is not right. All around him and Decky Flamboon are loved-up couples distracted by the world around them. A heart-tipped arrow is fired at them but missing its target embeds itself into the TARDIS. A handsome winged creature with a bow and arrows appears and identifies himself as Cupid — the god of love and son of Venus here to spread romance and love as his gift to the Earth. The Doctor doesn't believe him and inspecting the arrow from the TARDIS finds it laced with a mind-controlling drug Porcheen neurotoxins. Firing another shot at the Doctor the arrow misses and strikes Decky who falls to the floor. Angry, the Doctor suspects a shimmer disguise and using his sonic screwdriver the creature is revealed to be an Ameteli. The large, red, ugly and very smelly, winged Ameteli explains how he intended to distract the humans with the gift of love so that he could plunder the planet of its resources. As he moves in on the Doctor, Decky leaps up and returns the arrow he took and caught with his tail, aiming squarely at the creature. With love now on his mind, Ameteli is shown a projection by the Doctor of the planet Mascoda 6, instantly falls in love with it and flies off long gone by the time the love effect wears off in the humans.
