South Gallifrey was a mountainous area of Gallifrey (TV: State of Decay) that the Doctor knew very little about. It was a fabulous wintry landscape with fierce snowy weather every day. The house of Iris Wildthymes' Aunts was rooted in a mountain here, hundreds of stories tall. (PROSE: The Scarlet Empress)
Thessalia thought of the mountains as being little more than the home of hermits and feral cats; (PROSE: The Return of the King) the territory of the Killer Cats was called Gin-Seng. (AUDIO: Erasure, et al)
