Maximilien Marie Robespierre (born c. 1761-1762) was one of the leaders of the French Revolution. The First Doctor, Susan Foreman, Barbara Wright and Ian Chesterton encountered him in Paris during the days leading up to his execution in July 1794.
The Doctor, posing as a regional deputy, met Robespierre in a meeting with Lemaitre.
Robespierre later met with Lemaitre, telling him that there was to be an indictment handed down on himself. He wanted Lemaitre to get information for him, unaware that Lemaitre was actually a British spy named James Stirling.
Robespierre was shot in the jaw and taken to the Conciergerie prison. (TV: The Reign of Terror)
