AMNN was an internationally transmitted American cable television news network. One of its frequently seen newscasters was Trinity Wells, (DW: Aliens of London/World War III onwards). To date the exact meaning of the acronym AMNN has not been spelled out, although the channel's appearances in Torchwood suggested that the second N stands for "Network", as it was seen on screen as "AMN Network".
Behind the Scenes
While real-life BBC News personnel, sets and graphics have appeared in the Doctor Who Universe, AMNN is a fictional creation, analogous to CNN. In real life, CNN generally does not allow the use of its name, logo, or personnel in fictional contexts.
Appearances
AMNN news reports have appeared in the following stories:
Doctor Who
- Aliens of London
- World War III
- The Christmas Invasion
- The Sound of Drums
