Behind the scenes
- Along with Sarah Jane, Luke and Alistair Gordon Lethbridge-Stewart, this character is one of only eight fictional humans to appear both in Doctor Who and The Sarah Jane Adventures. The other four are French Newsreader, Newsreader (Olivia Hill), Newsreader (Sagar Arya) and Harry Sullivan. Another newsreader has also appeared in both programs, but he is a real-life BBC Wales newsreader, Jason Mohammad, playing himself.
- Trinity Wells is one of only two characters, as well as the only named character, to have appeared in Doctor Who, Torchwood and The Sarah Jane Adventures. The other one is French Newsreader, played by Anthony Debaeck.
- Russel T. Davies revealed in Doctor Who confidential for DW: The End of Time that he had originally planned for the Doctor to meet Trinity Wells in the special, but the scene was cut.
