Dr Who in "Lilliput" was a story included in the Doctor Who Give-a-Show Projector set.
Numerically the first story included in the GAS projector set, the story is the first Doctor Who comic to ever be released, although the first comic strip would later be COMIC: The Klepton Parasites.
Plot
In the TARDIS, the Doctor notes to his companions Ian and Barbara that the telector screen is not currently registering their position. Exiting the ship, the Doctor realises that this is because they have re-appeared too small. After this, a bird approaches, mistaking them for insects. The team hides under a button just as a human arrives, scaring the creature away.
Characters
References
- The telector screen fails to recognise the TARDIS' position.
- A bird mistakes the Doctor and his companions for insects.
Notes
- When a foot passes by the team and manages to scare off the bird, someone under the button refers to this being as a "human." If meant to be the Doctor, this may be one of the rare instances of 1960s Doctor Who comic writers being aware that "Doctor Who" was not actually born on Earth.
Continuity
- The TARDIS' occupants have shrunk. This isn't the first time this has happened. (TV: Planet of Giants)
