The Inquisition was the judiciary of Gallifrey. It was made up of Inquisitors, the most senior of which was the Inquisitor Prime (also known as the Inquisitor General), the highest authority on Gallifreyan law. This was an office that Darkel held. (AUDIO: The Inquiry, etc.)

Due to President Romana's preference for committees and plans to liberalise the autocracy, the Inquisition, and by extension the Inquisitor Prime, became largely redundant. (AUDIO: Lies)
