Anita Patel was a police officer working in the Sheffield area. In around 2017 she responded to Sonya Khan's phone call reporting her sister, Yaz, missing.
She eventually found Yaz alone, on the roadside in nowhere-land. Sensing Yaz's troubles at home Anita comforted her and persuaded her not to run away. She even made her a wager; if things didn't improve in three years she'd give Yaz fifty pounds, if they did work out, Yaz would give her fifty pence.
Three years later Yaz turned up on Anita's doorstep, and gave her the fifty pence. (TV: Can You Hear Me?)
