Mario was the second cousin of Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart's Granny McDougal, but he was referred to as the Brigadier's "great uncle" for simplicity. He was born in 1882 or 1883.[1]
He asked the Brigadier to help when Max Vilmio's efforts to take over his castilo became extremely aggressive and violent. Alongside the Brigadier, Jeremy Fitzoliver, Maggie and Roberto, they fought off Vilmio's mob. (AUDIO: The Ghosts of N-Space)
The Brigadier remembered Mario 'pinching' his books when he seven, but learned that it was actually his brother, James Lethbridge-Stewart, who gave Mario the books. (PROSE: Night of the Intelligence) When later discussing the books with Mario, the Brigadier maintained the illusion of the false memory as only he knew of the existence of James.
