Professor Archie Sylvest (PROSE: The Twin Dilemma) was the father of Romulus and Remus Sylvest.

Biography

Archie Sylvest was a mathematician and taught at the University. He married Nimo and lived with her at 25 Lydall Street with their twin sons: Romulus and Remus. When his wife was away earning further doctorates, Sylvest had a relationship with Vestal Smith, a relationship that he attempted to convince her husband was platonic. (PROSE: The Twin Dilemma)

In 2310, Professor Sylvest informed Romulus and Remus that their mother had left once again and worried about them playing equations. When he discovered that they had been abducted, he alerted the Interplanetary Pursuit Squadron, who sent Lieutenant Hugo Lang to find them. (TV: The Twin Dilemma) He called them despite feeling that he would not mourn his sons were they to die, only fearing that their genius might be abused. (PROSE: The Twin Dilemma)

Personality

At the University, Professor Sylvest greatly enjoyed receiving respect from his colleagues and spending time with students. His favourite drink was Voxnic. He was frightened and confused by his sons and found it therapeutic to image killing them whilst attempting to comb his hair. (PROSE: The Twin Dilemma) He feared that his sons' genius could be used to alter reality. (TV: The Twin Dilemma)

Appearance

Professor Sylvest was tall with a grey, matted thatch of hair that resisted combing. He had a ruddy face and was, due to his heavy consumption of Voxnic, rather fat, which was "chic" in 2310. (PROSE: The Twin Dilemma)
