Christopher Eccleston was an actor who played the Ninth Doctor.

News of his casting was met with a mixed reception by previous Doctor actors; Paul McGann was saddened at becoming the Doctor with the fewest episodes, with Colin Baker being happy at being relieved of the title himself, and Richard E Grant was confused as to whether he was still the "ninth" Doctor or not. (NOTVALID: Doctor What 4)

When Victoria and David Beckham met the Tenth Doctor and Rose Tyler, David erroneously addressed the Doctor as "Mister Eccleston". (NOTVALID: Doctor Whoah! 371)
