Reptile people inhabited the Earth's core and raged against the Ape Primitives who had stolen their planet from them. They were encountered by Iris Wildthyme, who had to stop MIAOW from committing genocide on them. She also came across a dashing old gentleman resembling Peter Cushing during the same adventure. Iris's adventures often resembled those of the Doctor; (PROSE: The Scarlet Empress) in this instance, there is more than a little in common between the reptile people's plight and that of the Silurians, reptilian humanoids who retreated into underground hideouts to avoid an apocalypse that never came, only for the Earth to be colonised by humanity while they slumbered. The Third Doctor was helpless to stop UNIT from killing the first batch of Silurians he encountered, (TV: Doctor Who and the Silurians) though it later turned out that other colonies survived elsewhere. (TV: Warriors of the Deep, Cold Blood, A Good Man Goes to War, etc.)

Notably, "peculiar lizard people" also attended a party alongside Dr Oho and Iris Murdoch. (PROSE: In the Sixties)
