The Ferengi character Quark is actually from the Star Trek series Deep Space Nine.

Quark was planned to appear in Domination, a Star Trek: Deep Space Nine/Doctor Who crossover and sequel to COMIC: Assimilation². In the story, Clara Oswald would have surprised Quark with her cunning, won a bet, and earned his friendship.[1]
