Thought spiders were a type of psychic arachnid that inhabited lava worlds, their webs and cocoons able to withstand immense heat.

The Eleven and the Kandyman used a thought spider on the prison Rykerzon in their scheme to control the population of Colony 23, feeding the spider silk to the colonists to link their minds together and make them submissive. The plan was defeated by the Eighth Doctor, Helen Sinclair, and Liv Chenka, with the Eleven stuck in the spider's web as his base exploded. (AUDIO: World of Damnation / Sweet Salvation)
