Nikola Tesla had a laboratory in New York City.
By 1903, Nikola Tesla transfered most of his work from New York City to his laboratory in Wardenclyffe. In 1903, protesters trespassed in front of the laboratory, protesting against the "death current". While investigating the origin of aliens, who had attacked Tesla near the Niagara Falls, the Thirteenth Doctor and Team TARDIS visited the laboratory. The Doctor was disappointed by what she saw, since she was expecting more.
