The Palace Hotel was a hotel in San Francisco. Charles Virgil McLean stayed there whilst the actors in his production of King Lear stayed in a boarding house. His suite was below Mr Caruso's and, after he complained to the manager about Mr Caruso's singing, he was kicked out. (AUDIO: The Gift)
