The Thing (film)
You may wish to consult Thing (disambiguation) for other, similarly-named pages.

The Thing was an alien horror film involving underground tunnels, in which, according to Bill Potts, "everybody dies". (TV: Empress of Mars) It was directed by a man named Carpenter, and starred Kurt Russell. (GAME: Blood of the Cybermen)

Bill thought the Twelfth Doctor would enjoy this film, and it came to mind when they explored underground tunnels on Mars. The Doctor seemed to have never heard of The Thing, (TV: Empress of Mars) though the Eleventh Doctor referred to the film when Amy Pond asked him if he had seen The Thing, though he also wondered if she meant the "Howard Hawks Thing-y with the walking carrot". (GAME: Blood of the Cybermen)

Behind the scenes

The blood organisms in the audio story The Labyrinth of Buda Castle were inspired by this film.
