|
| |
| The Huspick Degenerate was the Raxacoricofallapatorian ancestor of the criminal clans of the Raxas Alliance.
| |
|
| |
| ==Legacy==
| |
| As the ancestor of most criminals in the Raxas Alliance. The Huspick Degenerates descendants had a big impact on the planet, their criminal activities have spread from their home galaxy to the Mutter's Spiral. Raxacoricofallapatorian criminal families were normally rivals with one another and they were pursued by many police forces such as the Judoon. (SJA: Revenge of the Slitheen)
| |
|
| |
| Probably the most famous descendants of the Huspick Degenerate were the Slitheen family, some time before the 21st century when the Blathereen, also descended from the Degenerate and non-criminal were one of the most respected families, however the Slitheen soon bribed their way into power on Raxacoricofallapatorius. Their rule crashed the planet's economy and eventually the population rose up against them. (SJA: The Gift) Exposed, shamed, and arrested en masse in the Great Purge of Yon:556, the entire family was tried and found guilty, in perpetuity and given the death sentence. Many of the Slitheen fled justice, but the family continued to be hunted down by the Blathareen and Judoon. (SJA: Revenge of the Slitheen)
| |
|
| |
| The Slitheen then tried to gain an advantage and get revenge on their people, by planning criminal attempts on Earth, however none were successful. (DW: Aliens of London,World War Three,Boom Town, SJA: Revenge of the Slitheen,The Lost Boy,From Raxacoricofallapatorius With Love,The Gift, NSA: Snowglobe 7)
| |
|
| |
| Earth was the target of other activites by other descendants of the Degenerate, the Abzorbalovian Rebels and the Slitheen-Blathereen family although they too failed. (DW: Love and Monsters, SJA: The Gift)
| |
|
| |
| by 2501 the Blathereen, originally benevolent were one of the most powerful Raxacoricofallapatorian criminal families and the Slitheen weakened however the managed to gain an advantage due to the disasterous failure of the Blathereen to turn Justicia into a planet-destroyer. (NSA: The Monsters Inside)
| |
|
| |
| Tens of Thousands of years later in the 347th century Raxacoricofallapatorian criminals still had a presence, a branch of the Slitheen operated a time-travel package tour of Ancient Greece, 1500 BC, however they were bankrupted when their time travel package appeared to kill a tourist. (NSA: The Slitheen Excursion)
| |
|
| |
| ==Cultural Details==
| |
| Like all other Raxacoricofallapatorians, criminals had a hunting instinct, which included the hunting of sentient prey. (SJA: Revenge of the Slitheen) They sometimes displayed joy at triumph by disrobing. (DW: World War Three) Blon said that the Slitheen used venom grubs to dispose of family members not willing to engage in criminal activities (DW: Boom Town).A common tactic by the Slitheen to threaten their enemies in a confrontation is to grab one of them by the neck and threaten to kill them. Like some criminal organisations on Earth Raxacoricofallapatorian families were lead by a Don such as Don Arco of the Blathereen. (DW: Boom Town,SJA: The Lost Boy,The Gift,NSA: The Monsters Inside)
| |
|
| |
| ==Technology==
| |
| Some Raxacoricofallapatorian families such as the Slitheen and the Blathereen developed a method of disguising themselves as other lifeforms by first obtaining the skin of a dead victim -- referred to as a skin suit -- and compressing themselves into it. In order for this to work the victim needed to be heavy set, and the compression had a side effect: a gas exchange occurs which causes the disguised Slitheen to frequently expel gas with a sound similar toflatulation. (DW: Aliens of London; SJA: Revenge of the Slitheen). In late 2008, the skin suit technology was improved to allow Slitheen to assume a greater variety of human body types, and the gas-exchange issue was eliminated. (SJA: The Lost Boy) It wasn't always initially used (SJA: From Raxacoricofallapatorius With Love; The Gift), but would remain the standard until at least 2501. (NSA: The Monsters Inside)
| |
|
| |
|
| :It is unclear whether the improved skin suits are artificially created, or if humans still need to be killed and their skins obtained.
| | Huspick Degenerate was the ancestral group for many Raxacoricofallapatorian families, particularly several criminal families. (REF: Doctor Who: The Visual Dictionary, WEB: Captain Jack's Monster Files) |
| | |
| The Abzorbalovian Rebels also used some sort of technology to disguise themselves. (DW: Love and Monsters)
| |
| | |
| This technology was possibly a Shimmer as the Abzorbaloff's true form resembled his human form | |
| | |
| Raxacoricofallapatorian criminals used their peoples own spacecraft to aid their criminal activities as did the Abzorbalovian Rebels, they also stole or bought ships. (DW: Aliens of London,Love and Monsters,NSA: The Monsters Inside,SJA: The Gift) | |
| | |
| Raxacoricofallapatorian criminals stole or bought some of their technology, such as the theft of a matter compressor from the Pharos Institute or the purchase of a converter from a Wallarian. (SJA: The Gift,Revenge of the Slitheen)
| |
| | |
| The Slitheen-Blathereen family had Braclets which could fire lasers or teleport. (SJA: The Gift)
| |
| | |
| The Abzorbalovian Rebels used a Limitation field to keep their absorbption abilities under control (disguised as a cane). (DW: Love and Monsters)
