A psychiatrist was a physician that diagnosed and treated mental disorders in sentient lifeforms.

Sabalom Glitz tried to kill his prison psychiatrist, after which the psychiatrist diagnosed Glitz as having a "deep-rooted maladjustment". (TV: The Mysterious Planet)
