Behind the scenes
Technology Secretary is a fictional position. There was a Minister of Technology position from 1964 to 1970, instituted under Harold Wilson after he won the 1964 election. However when Ted Heath won the 1970 election he considered the Ministry of Technology unneeded and it was abolished that year.
