Cardiff International Ferryport was located in Cardiff Bay, beyond the Welsh Assembly Anti-Terrorist Barriers but not quite as far as Cardiff International Heliport.

It was formerly an area of dockland which was unsuitable for redevelopment into executive homes due to poisonous mould. The ferryport was opened in the late 2000s with a lot of carbon-neutral fanfare. It offered a highly subsidised ferry route to Ireland. The route took longer than going via Swansea, but was cheaper.

When the ferryport opened, Gwen Cooper had toyed with going, but Rhys Williams mockingly compared it to the Eurostar which put an end to it.

Gwen later visited the ferryport with Jack Harkness, where she watched the remains of a ferry get dragged into the docks by a tugboat. (PROSE: Almost Perfect)
