A prosthetic leg was a device used in place of real limbs.

After Ram Singh had one of his legs severed by Corakinus in October 2016, he was given a prosthetic one by the Twelfth Doctor which he acquired from the Lothan, who were experts in prosthetic legs. (TV: For Tonight We Might Die) This leg "[did] everything a normal leg does". He still felt pain when he kicked things with it. (TV: Detained)

Ram struggled to walk on it at first, but was soon able to teach the leg to act like his own and was even able to play football again. (TV: The Coach with the Dragon Tattoo, Nightvisiting)

During the Siege of Trenzalore, the Eleventh Doctor lost his left leg and replaced it with a crude wooden prosthetic. (PROSE: The Dreaming) When he was granted more regenerations by the Time Lords, his organic leg grew back. (PROSE: Dalek: The Astounding Untold History of the Greatest Enemies of the Universe)
