The Little Planet was the first short story in DWPM 3, which was devoted to the Silurians. Serving a similar role to The Creation of the Cybermen in the the previous issue, it was an overview of the Silurians' backstory, adapted from portions of a Target novelisation — in this case, Doctor Who and the Cave-Monsters by Malcolm Hulke, the text being reproduced with "kind permission" from Virgin Books.
