*I'm not very familiar on this exactly, but there appears to be some kind of rule on this wiki that characters who are provided with full names (or in this case, just a first name) in novelisations only cannot have their pages renamed to accommodate their full/first name. I recall seeing this on the talk page of a character from the 1996 Doctor Who movie, though I can't remember which one specifically. I'd appreciate it if an admin could explain why exactly this rule is a thing though, because it doesn't make sense to me. Rename
This page's name needs changing. Instead of "Cashier (Warriors of Kudlak)" the title "Pam (Warriors of Kudlak)" would be more accurate, seeing as she is identified as such in Gary Russell's novelisation of the story. Z. P. Moo ☎

- The rule indeed exists. It is a remnant of a time when novelisations were held to be "less valid" than the TV versions, as opposed to valid alternative accounts. Even after novelisations were fully validated, User:CzechOut's admin decision was to make one exception to their "equal" treatment that TV credits trump novelisation names, even if said credits are nameless. The reasoning is searchability — most people will be familiar with the original TV story and be looking for "the electrician from Terror of the Examplons", so as they look in the search bar, Electrician (Terror of the Examplons) will mean something to them; whereas, even if the novelisation decreed that the guy's name was Pete Watson, Pete Watson, that title wouldn't mean much to anybody.
- I have some personal issues with this policy, as it leads to weirdly inconsistent results and is generally at odds with the in-universe focus of the Wiki. But that will be an affair for the new Forums; in the meantime, T:BOUND applies, and the rename must not go forward, although User:Z. P. Moo was well-inspired to make a note of it on this talk page for the future.
- However, a rename can and should exist from Pam (Warriors of Kudlak) to this page. Scrooge MacDuck ☎ 14:20, 18 July 2021 (UTC)
