"Handymen" was the name given by Vicki Pallister to a humanoid species encountered by her, the First Doctor and Steven Taylor in their factory.

Members of this species walked on all fours. They had long, bony fingers, curved necks, broad, oval-shaped heads and large eyes. They had a friendly demeanour and were skilled at engineering.

When Vicki and Steven encountered the handymen, they were constructing a space cannon which Steven assumed they planned to use against their enemies. He and Vicki helped them complete the cannon, only to learn from the Doctor that the handymen had actually been contracted by another species to construct it for them, which turned out to be humans.
