Nicolas Frumkin was an employee of PhiCorp. In 2011, he was the only person with access to a particular part of their building in Los Angeles. Gwen Cooper and Jack Harkness needed to gain access to PhiCorp, so they tricked Nicolas into giving them his voice print, palm print and an image of his iris. An assassin who was following Gwen and Jack also needed to gain entrance to PhiCorp, so he forced Nicolas to say his name into a tape recorder and cut out one of his eyes and the palm of his hand.
