The Prisoner of Time was an unproduced script written by Barry Letts for Season 13. It was commissioned on 21 January 1975, but Philip Hinchcliffe felt the story didn't keep in line with the season's gothic horror tone and it was later dropped.
The story would have seen the first appearance of the Time Lords since Genesis of the Daleks, and the first story to focus on them since The Three Doctors. It would have been set on a remote moon, frozen in time by the Time Lords to hold a fugitive with time travel abilities. The Doctor would have discovered this whilst refuelling his TARDIS at a Time Lord outpost and gone to rescue them.[source needed]
